Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas - SpainThe Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spain is the largest public research organization of Spain and it is distinguished by its multidisciplinary nature, approaching all knowledge areas, from basic research to top-most advanced technological developments.
The CSIC is responsible for 20% of international scientific publications of Spain and 30% of the Spanish European patents. The Centro Nacional de Biotecnología (CNB) is one of the 116 institutes of the CSIC. It was opened in 1992, and is organized in five Departments: Molecular and Cell Biology, Macromolecule Structure, Immunology and Oncology, Microbial Biotechnology and Plant Molecular Genetics, and several technical Units, that are usually linked to research groups of the Departments. The aims of the CNB are to develop basic and applied research programs, to train young scientist, and to disseminate the technologies developed among other research centers and industry. The CNB is willing to contribute its research infrastructure for the successful completion of the project. Key persons involved

Material resourcesThe CNB possesses all the equipment required for research in plant molecular biology and virology. In addition, the CNB has centralized technical Units that provide support to the research of the different laboratories. I would like to remark the availability of greenhouses and climate rooms with appropriate biosafety levels, and Plant Cell Culture, Plant Transformation, Genomics and Proteomics services that will be used in the development of the project.
